Its exactly what i was thinking when i watch video first time "why they want to go on left side , just go on right side with sniper and break their defense line "

I wasn't there so it's easy to talk of course. But from what I can see on the video (and as always), chosing any side would have protect the group from having to hold two or three line of fire. Even left side would have been ok since we wouldn't have nobody in our back. We lack mobility.
